As long as creator credit is given in videos and/or video descriptions, we have no objections to any sort of fan-created playthrough and/or instructional videos. Furthermore, you are free to monetize your videos via the YouTube partner program and similar programs on other video sharing sites.
Fans are free to create fanworks such as art and works of fiction based on our stories provided they are not used for commercial purposes.
Subset Games does not offer any kind of internship program, nor are we hiring at this point in time.
Into the Breach will be released on February 27th and will cost $15 USD. It will be initially available on Windows through Steam, GOG and the Humble Store.
Into the Breach will be initially available on Windows. After release we intend to bring the game to Mac and Linux as well. As a small studio, we found managing that large of a release for FTL very difficult, so we’re going to spread it out more this time. We will consider the possibility of bringing the game to Mobile devices and/or consoles in the future, but it is not a priority at this time.
If the game does not work, contact us at email@example.com so we can help and/or provide a refund!
FTL is not available on iPhones or Android.
Please make sure your drivers are up to date. This is especially important for Intel integrated GPUs. Try these websites for finding updated Video Drivers:
If you purchased the game on our website, from the Humble Store, or in a Humble Bundle, you can use this Key Resender to retrieve your download: humblebundle.com/resender
In rare cases, power loss or PC crashes can cause profile data corruption. You can restore any achievements or ship unlocks you had by using this profile editor tool: sourceforge.net/projects/ftleditor
If switching to fullscreen has blocked input in the game by hiding the mouse / menu options, try disabling High DPI settings for FTL:
Find FTLgame.exe in FTL’s installation folder, then right click on the folder and go to “Properties”. In the “Compatability” tab, check the box to disable High DPI Settings and then click OK.
If you’re using Steam, FTL’s installation folder will most likely be here: C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\FTL Faster Than Light
The 2017 Fall Creators Update for Windows 10 is known to cause some issues with games including FTL when played in fullscreen. FTL version 1.6.5 - which is currently live on Steam and GOG - contains a fix for this issue.
A note on Bitdefender: The antivirus software Bitdefender is known to occasionally cause issues with FTL. If you are using Bitdefender, please make sure FTL access to Bitdefender's "Safe Files" so it can create and update your save data.
If neither of the solutions above resolve the issue, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
A Note on Mods: The update of FTL version 1.5.13 to 1.6.5 has been known to cause issues with mods. If you are experiencing issues starting the game, please try disabling any mods you have installed before attempting the following solutions.
Fix 1. Add -directx to FTL's launch options
1. Right click on FTL in your Steam library
2. Select "Properties"
3. Under the "General" tab click on "Set Launch Options..."
4. When the launch options window opens type in "-directx" (without the quotation marks) then click ok.
5. Run the game again to see if the solution worked. If not, move on to Fix #2.
Fix 2. Update your graphics drivers
Outdated graphics drivers can cause issues on startup. Please try updating your drivers using either the update programs on your computer or by going to the manufacturer's website. If you need help updating your graphics drivers, please feel free to shoot us an email at email@example.com
Fix 3. If you're still unable to play the game after updating your graphics drivers, or the game doesn't look right when you do, our last recommendation is to delete the file "settings.ini" from your FTL installation folder. On Windows 7 and 10, this folder should be located somewhere like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FTL Faster Than Light". The game will automatically create a new one the next time you launch it.

FTL.log is located in your FTL installation directory.
We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Yes! You can read about FTL mods on our mods page.
FTL was designed as a focused, single-player experience and there are no plans to extend it to include multi-player.
Unfortunately, there are no plans for an Android or iPhone port at this point in time.
Localization will be an ambitious project since there are tens of thousands of lines of text in the game. And numerous technical hurdles (hard coded text, foreign character support) also exist. It's something we currently do not plan to pursue, but that could change in the future. We are not looking for help with this.
The Advanced Edition came out on April 3rd, 2014. It was a large, free expansion that is now built into every version of FTL. There are no plans for a sequel or any additional updates.
