quests

I am pretty new to the game and i only have the first two ships.
i read somewhere that there are quests to unlock the other ships.
I don't really want spoilers but i haven't come across any so i wanted to know
what i have to look out for, if i have to do anything special.
Do they happen in every sector?

Each ship quest can only occur in its respective sector.

If you are in the hangar and click on the ship list, it will give you some basic story to the ships and sometimes a minor clue how to unlock it.

Look out for sectors called "Homeworlds" for where you might unlock more ships.
