Finding Achievemets

Is there a list of all the achievements that can be found in the game somewhere?
I'm not just talking about the just the ones to unlock ships, but others that sometimes pop up for various reasons.

Unpack data.dat, look in "achievements.xml". The community has added other stuff to wikis (beaten to that part ).

inside the game the achievements can be found in the stats screen from the main menu.
There is no way to see this screen while you are playing without losing your progress.

Esc
Save+Quit
Start game again and watch the stats/achievements
Then choose Continue to load your game.
