Suggestion - health AND asphyxiation bar

Hi guys,

Great game! One suggestion though, it can be annoying having a crew member with low health just die through lack of oxygen. In circumstances where crew are in a ship compartment with no oxygen, have an "asphyxiation" bar appear in addition to the normal health bar which slowly diminishes the longer the crew member is in the compartment with no O2. Once the compartment is re-oxygenated or the crew-person is back in an oxygenated ship, it can disappear again.

Once the asphyxiation bar has empited, then start taking health points off as well.

I think the current system is fine.
Although I had this idea about an augment or something called "Space Suits" instead of Emergency Respirators.
If your crew is at full health, they take no damage from low oxygen but if they take damage, it's assumed there's a hole in the suit and therefore take full asphyxiation damage. So you know, when your ship is not in any danger, you can fix up those hull breaches.

But yeah, the system is fine, otherwise you'd never be able to vent boarders out of your ship, because every time they got through a door, they'd be breathing again and probably get through the next door before they'd take damage.

Good points. It would need to be balanced against say the door strengths (talking about boarders here). Rather than slowly diminish, perhaps have the asphyxiation bar diminish quite rapidly. This would allow your own crew with low health to pass through rooms with low O2, but mess with boarders, especially if you have level 3 doors..
