Advanced edition content question.

Hi! I haven't been in FTL for a while, but recently re-downloaded new version from humble. Great work! Love the game!

But please tell me, what is the point to have "Advanced edition content" toggle in hangar? Are there any hidden penalties or bonuses to keep playing in old classic default mode?

No penalties, other than you can't play with the cool new toys like the hacking drones, mind contol, or battery. You'll also miss out on the new race, several new sectors, and 10 new ships.

I personally have never clicked that button so I don't know all the differences, but those for me are the major ones

Yeah, i know that all new features are missing in old mode. But why on earth they keep it at all? If old mode is there just "because we can" - ok, let it be. But maybe there is something like Uber-Galactican-Specaship unlocked if you beat the boss with every type of every ship on HARD in default mode?

I don't know why. Maybe just to keep people from complaining that the game was so much better before they ruined it You know those people are probably out there.
