Just bought this game yesterday and have yet to beat it.

I sort of suck at this game and have been trying to beat it on easy since yesterday. I finally got to the boss and got excited after I destroyed it, but it was extremely short-lived as I was shot down by a laser shot right after and blew up myself. This game is fun, but that really, really sucked. Maybe have it so that the ship doesn't blow up after blowing up the other ship? Man...I was so excited too. Has that ever happened to anyone else? I thought I finally beat the game...

You do insta-win if it's the last stage, but judging from your post it sounds like you only beat the first stage of the boss.

What's worse is winning the battle, no missiles or anything else coming at you, but your last crew member suffocating. In the first sector. On the third turn. When they're a crystal =\

Still, it's a rogue-like. I'm only disappointed I can't play a cruise ship (tourist anyone?).
