Reactor Suggestion
With the addition of all the new stuff in the AE update I was saddened that the reactor wasn't upgraded to keep up with it all. 25 power bars just isn't enough anymore, please upgrade the Reactor to, like, 50. The graphics wouldn't have to be expanded either, they could go from green to yellow like the experience levels for the crew. That's the only complaint I really have about the AE update, other than that, I love AE!

No, just no. This game is about micromanagment and managing your energy is a big part of the games difficulty. If you could have so much energy then it would make the micromanagment unnecesary.

Well, you've got the battery backup (which IMO should be called auxiliary power). And Zoltans can provide power.
Part of the game is managing limited power. As captain of your ship, you've got to decide what needs power right now, and that can change rapidly (which is why pause is your friend).
Or you can go back to non-AE and play 5thHorseman's Potential. (Or wait till we can mod ships for AE.)
I will say that one more column of reactor bars would be nice.

We have more stuff, but we can only put the same number of them on our ships. 25 reactor power as good a number now as it was before. And now you get 4 bonus power from the battery.

Due to the fact you can only install a limited amount of systems it actually doesn't have that much of an impact. At most you can have 3 more bars of power needed.

Okay maybe 50 is a bit overkill but still, even 35 power bars would be great.
And I get that it's about micromanagement, but it's basically useless to have more than one or 2 power-requiring systems at max and still be able to have good weapons, don't even think about having max shields or engines if you're gonna have any weapons and/or drones that are actually useful end-game :/

I dunno, I thought that I needed more power at first, but 25 is surprisingly adequate, especially with a Zoltan or two.
Of course, that doesn't mean that that I wouldn't like to be able to go up to 30, especially on the Fed Cruiser so that I can more readily feed the power-hungry Artillery Beam and Flak Artillery along with the new toys.

I wonder if you really do get that it's about micromanagement - or maybe you need to be even better at it. In normal (at least pre-AE) I regularly maxed shields and weapons, or if I didn't have weapons that needed 8 power, I'd have 1 buffer bar, and at least a buffer bar for drones. O2 doesn't always need to be powered, so that's a bar there. If you have an offensive drone and a defensive drone, you can switch between them, so if they're both mk I, then you only need L2 drone control. If your shields are up, you could borrow some power from engines, until missiles are shot, when you put it back, maybe cloak, then depower engines when you've dodged everything.
Now, AE's a little different: you might have more systems that tie up power while cooling down, but then again, you could have 2 or 4 power from the backup battery.

Pre AE I didn't have a power issue with 25 power bars.
WITH AE and the addition of mind control, hacking, cloning, and the amount of various new weapons and drones, 25 isn't enough anymore, 30 or 35 power bars would be great. It'd let you have your level 3 hacking, mind control, and still be able to power the end-game weapons and drones. (By the way, shield drones are amazing).

Every time I've one well, previous versions or now, I've had problems with power management.
It's part of the endgame. If you can power everything, you haven't upgraded enough
