I was thinking that the game could, potentially, benefit from a few cutscenes (not a whole ton, but a select few.)
For example,[SPOILER] during The Last Stand, a quick cutscene of the Federation and Rebel fleets tearing into each-other would be kinda neat, and make it seem like a battle instead of two ships beating on each other while the opposing fleets sit and watch.[SPOILERS]
Another use would be at the begining, giving more details on the "data" you're carrying, so it's not data all through the game then RANDOM FLAGSHIP FTW.
It's just a suggestion to give the story a little more depth. I don't know the difficulty of implementing some cutscenes, but I'd think, art wise, it'd be doable.
Thoughts?
Addition of a few cutscenes?

This... Is a very good suggestion!
I might also suggest, during the battle scenes, the background be animated, with the ships in the background shooting at each other.

No thanks. This game is about the player not fancy CG movies. If you want to watch a movie go buy FF12.

Who mentioned fancy CG movies? I suggested doing it with the already-existing sprites, and all ShadowDragon said was... well, you can read the post.BigD145 wrote:No thanks. This game is about the player not fancy CG movies. If you want to watch a movie go buy FF12.

Indeed, I think ShadowDragon sure has a point on that, also dont think it'd be too hard to add a few explosions and laser beams to be seen in the background of the final battle, shouldn't be too hard and would add a LOT to the atmosphere.
