Suggestion: Supplies
Just one of the little things that came to mind- what does the crew member eat or drink? There should be a supply counter. One is consumed every jump. They would be relatively cheap at shops, but when you run out of supplies and you jump, your crew's performance will drop dramatically. Eventually, if you keep running without supplies, your crew will die by starvation and dehydration. Note that it is easy to find and cheap, but it is vital to always keep a stock.

I like this idea. It's adds a further depth, but it could also make people complain about having to micro-manage everything... Even though we ARE micro managing everything.
I would add one thing, if the crew is fed it fights hand to hand at 110%. There could even be ONE room devoted to the galley and if destroyed all bonuses to being fed is removed till the galley is fixed again.

Surely their is also the fact that I see things are running in realtime, your basically dumped into a small fast ship to deliver the data you have, your not ment to be carrying like the kitchen sink, a galley is sort of redundant since your mission is ment to last a couple of hours or leave you dead in a blazing wreak.

Wait, so the combat, jumping 8 galaxies and all that only took a couple of hours? If so, food supplies would be unrealistic meh.

well for one thing tiher not galaxies, just sectors, say 100 light years cubed per sector, plus your using an FTL drive, which means covering that distance could literally be a blink of the eye thing, remember the only thing limiting your jumps really is the need for nav data from pre positioned beacons after all, the FTL transfer is most likely instantanious since it looks to be tunnel based (given the animation used) and yes I did just make an awful lot of asumptions on technology base of a game with very little technology canon XD

They get all their food from the replicators, they dont work without power. And since theres no measurement of time when pressing "wait", theres no way to suggest they'll starve without power

I don't really see food or water (or just general supplies) happening, since this is probably, as MagnaByte said, a spacetravel of a few hours at max (and a very high mortality rate...).
Plus, I'm not even sure if engi or rocks NEED food... Well they need oxygen...

I like the idea of a cosmetic "Lounge/Kitchen" room.
Not sure I like the idea of crew supplies, I mean we already have fuel that is consumed every jump, doesn't this (mechanically) wind up as a duplication of that? If mechanically it's a duplication then it won't really help game play.

I always just figured the housing was on a separate deck underneath what you see.
