Update help

I need help updating the game, its been a long time since I've played the game, and I just found out about the update....so how do I update my game (note its not a steam release, its the version where I downloaded the game)

Welcome back Bren.

Login to your humble store account (details are in the email you received after buying the game) and download the latest version. If you lost the email, use the resender to get a new email sent.

Then uninstall FTL, delete the /FTL folder completely to get rid of any old modfiles or backups that may cause compatibility problems and finally simply install the new version of FTL. Your profile is kept separately so you wont lose it unless you choose to delete it during uninstall.

You will need the new and improved SMM - Slipstream Mod Manager to patch mods in. Simply unzip it wherever you like and tell it where to find FTL (if it doesn't find it on it's own) and you're good to go.
