"What the fuck" moments in ftl

Ok so in my most recent play through i was playing in my rock cruiser type a i was about on sector six had a crystal crew member and two maniti and three rock members plus an engi, i send my manti over to an enemy ship then my mouse dispensers i look back at the screen then the ship is gone all i can see is the crew floating. my mouse reappears and the ship is still missing i then send my crystal and rock crew over then the ship reappears just to explode. so FFFFF

Well recently, I was playing with the Slug A Cruiser, and I'd been fairly hard hit by a particularly tough Rock Ship. I still had some of my crew left, one each of Human, Zoltan, and Engi. I ran into the random event where you have a choice to save an Engi or a Drone Schematic, and I chose the Engi. However, as soon as he beamed aboard, my Mantis (who was top-tier in combat) vanished without a trace.

Yeah, one possibility in that event choice is that you lose a guy trying to save the Engi. The event text does explain it.

Here's one of mine, which was probably my own fault. I was in sector 4 or 5 with Crystal B, and then I saved the game. Before I picked up the game again, I copied the save file from my Linux computer to my Windows computer and picked up where I left off. I can only assume that this is the cause of what happened next. I made it to sector 6 without incident, but the exit beacon in sector 6 took me directly to The Last Stand. Now I have a rare sector 7 victory on my stats list.
