Hi all
I was somewhat surprised to not see any screenshots thread here, so I'm making this one to share my epic fail moment. If anyone wants to use the thread to share their own epic win/fail moment, feel free to post your screenshot :)

Yours is not so bad actually.
Your oxygen is still up!
You could spend scrap to upgrade it to level 2, power it up and then open all inner (NOT outer) doors to make the air stabilize. :)

Although I guess it IS a fail if you quit/died!

That would work even with a breach there? :-o I totally died there.

Yeah if you open inner doors the air starts to stabilize.
First the rooms closest to the breach turn pink, then the room with the breach turns pink.

Your oxygen percentage starts going down, but with just 1 breach you could have probably repaired it in time.
Edit: Well maybe not with lv1 oxygen, I just noticed the breach was much bigger than I thought!

With lv2 oxygen you could have almost certainly done it without taking any damage to your Zoltans, though.

Not almost. Certainly. I was in EXACTLY that situation, except I only had one guy, and got out with lvl2 O2.

At least in theory you could still use the other ship.

Ouch!

I assume you tried teleporting them back and fixing the medbay? I know from experience that 2 mantises can NOT fix the oxygen before dying even with a L2 medbay, but 3 Mantises can if you stagger them and they all start at 100% health.

And of course if you have even one mantis left after fixing the medbay, you can in theory keep going. I got my above experience by giving up trying to fix the O2 and just running one guy from the medbay to the cockpit to make jumps, and continued my boarding strategy. Not long later, I got a 3rd Mantis and then was able to fix the oxygen and the rest of the ship.

I sadly don't know offhand if I ended up winning or losing that playthrough, but I do remember being very happy to win that "unwinnable" situation.

Here's one that I just had happen today:

Image

Notice how that's a ship that's been destroyed with nearly full hull. "How might that happen?", you say. Well here's a screenshot from a few seconds earlier.

Image

Notice the no hull in that one. While jumping away from a beacon, I was hit by a beam taking my last hull, but I was jumping to a store. I was still allowed to buy whatever I wanted at the store (I bought shields and a bunch of hull), but unfortunately my ship was still destroyed. :( Shields and Cloaking were both available at the store since I was playing with a modded ship (Krakatoa from my signature), but this really didn't play into the circumstances that make this an epic fail moment.

Couldn't you have bought another level of O2 or MedBay and saved that game? 74 scrap should have been enough.
