Hello all, I'm a big fan of the game, first time poster, since I was a kid I've been into space sims and strategy games. One of my favorites of all time is of course Masters of Orion II. After playing FTL for a little bit I saw possibilities to take the game's elements and turn it into a 4X space strategy game similar to MOOII. I figured it would be a good topic to discuss and expand upon. One thing I want to try is to create a fleet based combat system so instead of controlling one ship, the player has 3+ ships fighting enemy fleets. I figure old school hex maps would be the way to go to determine movement and distance.
