Stories of Awesome - or something like it.

Okay, so I started a game of FTL.

I started in the Stealth cruiser, which I despise for being mechanically inferior.

I started with three human female crew:
Trudy Chacon, Pilot.
Jenette Vasquez, Gunner
Elena Santos, Engineer.

And I named it FSS Challenger.


I don't think I could have doomed this ship any harder, and I was trying.

I did cheat at the beginning, but not much - I gave myself 100 fuel and 1,000 extra scrap. So, it was a big boost in the early game, but late-game I was struggling, especially since the RNG hated me and never gave me the things I wanted, like a weapon pre-igniter aug, or teleport bombs, at least not in quantity.

I squirmed in the late game, I actually ran from encounters despite having maxxed out my systems. I engaged the Rebel Flagship, and good lord was it tough.


Somehow, I survived, despite their constant boarding drone nonsense. The second phase was the hardest, because of that.

The only one who died? Santos, ironically enough. And if you don't know why that's ironic, go watch Aliens, Avatar (the James Cameron film, not M. Night Shyamalan,) and Battle: Los Angeles.

Well allow me.

I started off with a crew of 3 men in the Kestrel.

Slowly getting their brains turned to mush by space sickness they decided to purchase a teleporter and attempt to liberate some female slaves from the next slaver ship.

That was when Ken found his inner street fighter.

I'm not joking there. His name was actually Ken. He was a fucking BEAST!

Low level he tore through two goddamn mantis and took over the entire ship by himself. It wasn't long before he found his brother in arms though. Liu Ken!

With the master of the street and the master of fatalities nobody could stop them! In the end the mothership crumbled before them as they smashed the weapons consoles with their fists, punched straight through any drone that dared to stand in their way and ripped the crew in half with their bare hands.

I have no idea how they got that powerful but it was fucking INSANE, they took less damage than Rocks, did more damage than Mantis and I fucking loved EVERY SECOND of watching them go on a ship and repaint the walls with it's crew.

I love it when bugs work in your favour for a change

I think by the end of the game Ken had killed 30 people and Liu about 28.

Wow. There's some randomness to the damage values, but there shouldn't be that much! I mean, unless you were beaming them back for frequent medbay trips or something.


That, or Lady Luck just went down on you and kept it up all night long.

Of course I did once in a while, he was barely alive after 2 mantis but seriously. The fact he just took em on single handed already made my jaw drop. Had he actually been able to take 3 it might have snapped off.

Well lady luck might be blind. But you don't need to see to do what she does.
