What mod / when did FTL start having Rebels control all of The Last Stand sector by 5-7 jumps??

What mod / when did FTL start having Rebels control all of The Last Stand sector by 5-7 jumps??

Not sure if it's a mod I'm using (CE) or just FTL AE, but when I get to the last stand, I have to immediately jump to a repair beacon, as the Rebel Fleet is no longer sweeping from left to right at a steady rate, but rather taking over random beacons -- by the time I've made my 5th jump usually 90% of the sector is Rebel-controlled. :x

I'm on AE Normal difficulty, using

Beginning Scrap Advantage
Engi Scrap Advantage
better_asteroids
Better Planets and Backgrounds
CE Resource Pack
FTL CE
CE BPaB compat patch
CE Additional music
EL Texture Pack
CE Endless Loot for Standard CE

That's how the Last Stand works. Rebels randomly take control of beacons (this was happening even before AE). You're supposed to quickly get to the base and stop that Flagship from wrecking it.

Hmm. What's the point of the repair beacons then if they're all gone by the time you finish off the first round with the flagship?

Maybe I'm remembering Easy difficulty? I don't know. All I know is, on normal, if I want repair, I'd best jump straight to the repair beacon as they will usually all be gone by the time I get to the flagship.

You grab them first thing for the repairs, Scrap and supplies before moving on.
And try to avoid massive damage at Phase 1 I guess?

Sometimes you find a Store that's in the path of the Flagship and no matter how fast you get over there, it'll be taken over :(

Haha. I know what it was... when I first started playing FTL, by the time I was good enough(?) to reach the Flagship, I'd enabled a mod that disabled fleet pursuit. That's why I didn't know that was normal.
