[Idea] New Ship: Suicide Squad

Zoltan Cruiser: The Suicide Squad

Systems:
Engines Level 2
Clone Bay Level 1
Oxygen Level 1
Weapon Control Level 1
Crew Teleporter (2x2) Level 2

Subsystems:
Piloting Level 2

Crew
4 Zoltan

Augmentations
Zoltan shield
Zoltan Shield Bypass

Weapons
Repair Burst

Layout:
A: Shields Level 2
B: Cloaking Level 1
C: Drone Control Level 3 - (Defense Drone Mark 2)

Game Play:
Your 4 Zoltan boarding party is the theme to this ship. Killing the crew in a suicidal burst will win you early fights. You only have to worry about your empty ship that you leave behind you. That is, until you can add a flight crew, some weapons, and defenses.

You know that sounds a lot like 5th horsemans enforcer ship seeing as the zoltan, everything at lvl one, zoltan shield, the teleporter, And the low reactor all sound like the same ship....
I've grown Scales since I left. But now I'm soaring again. Off to save the Federation and have fun!

Could you link it? I mean, it's bound to happen. No one has a truly original Idea. I got the idea during a run when I noticed their dying could be used offensively If you don't care about them. So I came up with this idea as you would be hard pressed to get this set up in a real game.

Also all my ships end up the same at the end, so the real joy is the first 2 sectors.

The Enforcer is a Zoltan boarding ship, but it wasn't designed for suicide bombers. It starts with a medbay.

Though I too would suggest you play RAD-X's Enforcer. I made mine actually on request of him, and didn't do exactly what he wanted. His is closer to the original vision of the ship.

Also: Mine's not updated to AE and I doubt it ever will.

I think everyone has a fundamentally different direction they take their ships, but It's good to know that the idea of a suicide ship of Zoltans. I didn't want to do drones, because that's more of an engi thing, but you have to have some way to repair if everyone is off your ship. I also want the ship to be crewed by engi/human, but that wouldn't be in line with the ship's restrictions.

I do some what like the no O2, but would it be possible to have O2, but no doors in parts of the ship? I feel that would be more realistic. This is more of a boarding ship that dies fighting, rather than a kamikaze ship of death, that I feel RAD's ship is.

I do like the idea of making my own ships though, and might do some moding myself. Maybe even making set storyline missions or something for each ship would be nice. Maybe FTL doesn't need a 2nd game, but a sandbox version that allows these kinds of mods.

In any case, ty for the comments and I'm glad there is such a fan base for this game still.
