I Cant Believe this...

I ALMOST HAD IT.

I was so very sure I would have gotten it.

I had EVERYTHING PERFECT. On Easy.
I started off with the Starting ship B variant, for its 4 lasers and mantis.
First 2 beacons went real smooth, took no damage and there was always a generous civilian always involved, so I took that scrap and made myself a level 2 shield. And I just kept getting scrap from these helpful civilians, always giving me scrap and all the rebels were no match, because NONE OF THEM ACTUALLY HAD MISSILES and guess what, I had a spare 120 scrap, and I found a store, WEAPON PRE IGNITER. This is just going too easy. There was only 3 times when the civilians didn't give me anything and I TOOK NO DAMAGE LIKE HALF WAY TO SECTOR 3. And I got a GLAIVE BEAM FROM A RANDOM ENCOUNTER. FOR FREE. I KEPT ALSO GETTING FREE CREW MEMBERS, INCLUDING MULTIPLE MANTISES. Then I bought a Crew teleporter. And there it was.
Sector 4; Mantis Home world.

I was thrilled, thinking "FINALLY. I get my ship! I have to get it in such a lucky playtrough!"
First 5 Beacons. no sign of *EnterSuperLongWeirdMantisThiefName*
2 Beacons from Exit.

Jump to next sector.

I almost hit the screen with my keyboard.
I still love this game, but this is just getting ridiculous.

Anyone else have such horribly bad luck?

I'm assuming it's bad luck because you really wanted to unlock the mantis ship

I ran into and beat that guy before by boarding, but I must have picked a bad dialogue choice because I didn't get the ship afterwards. It kind of really sucks. It was the only time I ever ran into him D:

It really seems like they always happen when you DON'T have the requirements.
And yes, I have been desperately trying to get that ship, I'm trying to unlock all of the ships
