It doesn't need to be something big, but an ability to have a 1 v1 skirmish match against another player would be fun and exciting. Could work by searching for a match or inviting a friend and then you get to choose a ship from your unlocked ships and get a random amount of money to upgrade it (But the same money for each person).
If time and funds allowed, an XP system to unlock more gun and/or systems/augmentations to buy would be a good addition. Thoughts?
A 1 V 1 Skirmish mode would be a nice addition in the future

It'd be cool- but that means netcode. It would be really, really useful for testing loadouts, too. Not to mention finally commanding that dream machine you always hope to build.

Also this but versus AI. You create your own and enemy ships (or select from existing).

Even better option would be setting up a mode based on the king of the hill, modified to suit us, of course.
There are 5, 7, 9, 11 or some other number of sectors players chose. Players start on the opposite sides of the map, while objective is in the middle sector, so both of them have same distance to travel to reach it. Game-play is as usual, except there is no fleet chasing, but capturing the objective gives certain benefits and/or possibility to win the game. So it puts players into a situation where they have to carefully balance between exploration (for upgrades) and advancement (to reach the objective which is vital for wining). There should be a subtle way of checking other player's progress, although that must be handled with great care, just as the means of victory. Obviously, a huge battle at the end would be climactic. Game speed would also have to be carefully taken care of, since there are so many random events and rare fights that last way too long that could give one player a (dis)advantage; so, probably a combination of turn-based and real time, or strict allowance of only certain number of sectors per number of minutes etc.
Hope it was clear. Sounds like great fun.

Sounds rubbish, no offence but that just doesn't work with the movement system.Sinriel wrote:Even better option would be setting up a mode based on the king of the hill, modified to suit us, of course.

It would take just a little bit of tweaking to enable fair movement for both. This is something I would play, that's why I mentioned it. Sounds like a great challenge for friends 1 on 1.
