A game I've been waiting for, Thank you for developing

Post by GSC122 »

I just registered to simply say thank you to the Developers of this game. I've been long awaiting a space craft game that took the perspective closer to those in line to that of a captain of a capital ship. I'm hoping that FTL will inspire more games of this breed.

Anyway, I wish you success in sales, and hope this brings the opportunity to expand your franchise, as well as branch out into other similar avenues. (Perhaps games where you start off in a small ship, and slowly advance into the captains seat of a large battleship with 100's of crew members, and multiple decks.)

Agreed! I just made an account as well to say that this game is the best thing since sliced peanut butter.

I feel the same. It's just the game I've been wanting to play for a while. I hope to see FTL 2 some day.

I want game design to be my job. And I'm on a good way going there; I want to because I want to build the experiences I want to have that are unable to be found anywhere else, like more people. FTL is a major inspiration for me now.

Thank You for creating this game. It is so well made, created with... heart, I would say.

I was waiting for this kind of game (where you are commander of a spacecraft) for 20 years so it's quite long. Back then, in 1992, I was inspired by weird board game Voyage of the B.S.M. Pandora (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2678 ... -m-pandora). As a board game it has one main bad design decision - single player only. Faster Than Light is something close to this made for PC - here single player games are good idea. Well... that board game was more about exploring, finding alien creatures (dead or alive), planning and managing resources and fighting was very marginal game aspect but still - FTL reminded me about that game because of similar ideas and ways of creating game events.

Thank You once more. I wish You luck (like that luck you have to have to beat final boss in FTL :D), many sold copies and even better ideas in Your next game (if any?!)!

As all the people above have mentioned, this is an awesome game. Thanks for developing it!

I really feel like your basic mechanics could be expanded into a whole realm of game possibilities, they are fantastic in their simplicity and the look and feel really comes together for an awesome experience. I hope you've had enough fun making it to possibly look into where you can take the core concept from here!

I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments of this thread. I don't often get excited about new games coming out, and I'm far more the type to wait for a sale than to buy something when it's new, but this is one of the few games that I simply couldn't wait for. Of course anticipation is nothing if the game can't deliver, but FTL has lived up to all of my expectations and then some. It reminds me of everything I loved about old school adventure games and roguelikes, with all the polish of modern gaming.

Thank you so much.
