[SHIP] The Phoenix

Once a mighty mantis skirmisher the Phoenix was captured by a federation officer who soon defected to piracy. The Phoenix gathered a reputation for terrorising civilisation with it's twin fire beams, crops were laid waste and entire continents set alight. Any ship unfortunate enough to cross it would soon find their shields ioned and their entire ship in flames. With the desperate federation pushed over the edge by the sheer numbers of the rebels they had no choice. The captain of the Phoenix was called on to complete one final mission in exchange for clearance of past crimes. He refused the federation's offers to outfit his ship with standard systems, instead relying on his weapons to finish the job. This is the story of

THE PHOENIX

Requires Slipstream Mod Manager.
An attempt to make fire ships not OP and my first mod :D
Stats:
2 fire beams, 1 ion blast
No shields, no doors, two sensors, minimal systems, cloning bay.
One rockman for crew.
BUYING SHIELDS OR DRONE CONTROL DOES NOTHING
Long ranged scanners - to aviod asteroid fields, they tear the ship apart
Weapon pre-ignitior - to fit in with the skirmisher theme, also balancing this ship would be to OP with shields, the idea is to use your pre-ignitor to take out their weapons first.
Fire Suppresion - It is a fire ship.
Enemy combat drones don't work against you! - would have again torn the ship apart.

I've gone through the entire master mod list and learnt from that, hopefully this ship is original.
I have played through this ship and it is balanced, i find it rather fun as well to set a ship alight and watch the flames burn (that's why i included level 2 sensors).

Drones can be bought
Enemy offensive drones work

It's an interesting idea! I might try a run with it sometime.

I'd personally like to see a fourth weapon slot, to compensate for lack of drones. Also lets you buy a laser weapon of some kind so the auto-scouts don't kill you with their lack of oxygen XD A balance idea might be to start with a Mantis to compensate, since you're trying not to get hit in the first place. So if you do, repairing takes aaaaages.

Crew-killing ships don't usually interest me, since they fail against the final boss pretty hard most of the time. But it could be interesting...

Alright, releasing an updated version later today which you can buy shields and drones with, added in a mantis crewmember(the story goes that the mantis is his prisoner), and a fourth weapon slot, the only reason i didn't have one was because i wanted one weapon to go in the middle of the ship but i've managed to squeeze in two weapons. Also enemy offensive drones should work in the update. Thanks for replying!

P.S.
This isn't just a crew killing ship, fire can also take out systems too!
