Infinite space Mod And captains Edition.

I have captains edition and infinite space mod. But I have not cone across a "mini boss" is this because I am playing captains edition or just have not came across one yet? Everything seems to be working fine but I just don't know. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.

For the Infinite Space mod mini-bosses, you have to have Level 6 shields before you see them, then have Level 4 engines in order to fight them.

I have found the ships but I can't fight them?
