I rage quited after a slate mate

Both me and my enemy's ships were stuck not being able to disable each others shield I couldn't take out the shield with my ion and laser or missile and laser no matter what I could of FTL away and gotten better weapons but... That wasn't likely since the last stand was the next sector

The good thing is if you did FTL away the ships in the next sector should be able to overwhelm and kill you, thus preventing further stalemates.

This happened to me before against an engi ship. It had a single ion weapon, Lv2 shield and two Defense Drones. (one of them was Mark II). I took the opportunity to grind my crew members skills, because I had my own Ion Blast II which fires VERY fast and generates lots of exp.

To my surprise, eventually some of my projectiles hit the Mark II drone and destroyed it. The Engi ship died shortly after. This is when I learned that you can kill drones like this (But is really only useful against drones assaulting your own ship; the projectile angle is seemingly random when shooting at your opponent)
