More control over drones?

Hello I am new and not good with computer so sorry if this has been shot down before...but I thought it would be cool if drones were a little more involved than just throw it out there and hope it shoots something important. I really like playing the Engi ship with drones as my primary weapon, but a little too often I run into situations where I end up tanking a great run because my drones just won't shoot anything useful. I thought it'd be really great if they had some kind of target priority system that you could toggle between two or three options. Example:

1. Standard random targeting
2. Random target for first attack, then continue to attack the same target
3. Only target rooms with crew members
4. Only target undamaged systems

If not a standard feature, I think this would be really fun to have available as an augmentation. Or it could be something that say, unlocks a new option for every two points you put into your Drone Control.

Being able to tell them to target something specifically would make them op, because their fire rate blows the socks off every weapon but a fully charged vulcan. However maybe you fan say "try and shoot this", and they do like 3x more often than each other room (not all other rooms, each).

I was thinking that as well, hence the idea of giving them slightly customizable AI rather than giving you full control over them. I think reduced rate of fire would be a good trade-off...since drones are constantly moving, it makes sense that they would have to take extra time to target specific things.

Drones shoot faster, but unlike weapons they only shoot 1 shot, so no big shield piercing here(only if you use 2, and even then, only MK2 can break shields), so I don't see something wrong with this.

An other thing would be the ship drones, they aren't that useful and feel a bit useless. Allow the players to tell them on what system to fix or what boarders to attack(they will still attack a random boarder or fix a system)

System Repair
Maybe give it 2x repairing(might be bad on rebel ships) and remove their slow speed. Maybe increase their health(again, bad for boarding rebel ships, so not that good of an idea).

Defense Drone
Normal movement speed and slow health regeneration ?(the cooldown on drones doesn't help)

Boarding Drone
I'm not sure about this one, it's like missiles, annoying if the enemy has it, but not that useful if you have it. Maybe reduce power use ?(that could also work for the defense drone if the buffs would destroy the boarding)
