Crew lost with enemy ship, AUTO teleport needed

This happened a few times and caused me a great trouble: I send out crew to board enemy ship, and just after they disabled certain equipment the ship went BOOM and my brave crew gone with it. It's very annoying considering the crew are skilled and it's hard to get ideal replacement throughout the game.

I'm suggesting an auto-teleport function that if you have a functional teleporter, your crew will be tele-back when enemy ship blows up. It can save a great trouble of losing valuable crew.

I think that'd be babying things too much. The idea is to intentionally avoid destroying ships with your crew on board.

I think this is working the way the devs want it to work. unforgiving but not unavoidable. They want it to be dangerous and require micromanagement. You at least have the pause button to aid you in micromanagement.

when the enemy ship has low hull health you probably should stop firing on the ship or pull your guys back. You definitely should not kill a system if the enemy ship is on it's last hull point.

Yeah, seriously, if your crew are on board then don't blow it up. Seems pretty obvious to me...

There was an augmentation planned (Personal Teleporter) that does this. Never made it in the final game though.

Enemy FTL away with your crew would be unfair, especially since right now there seems to be bugs concerning enemy FTL. Their ship blowing up is much easier to monitor and control though. Even easier than monitoring your boarding party's health in combat, IMHO.

I'm guessing that the original poster didn't know attacking a system with boarders makes the ship take hull damage.

We should get ready, there will be a legion of people complaining about the game not being "fair" and stuff. The boss is to hard... the game is too random... this is wrong, that is hard... bla bla bla bla :P

This thread feels a bit more hostile towards the OP then it needs to be. Lets help him/her feel welcome and understand what the devs are trying to achieve instead of whining about common requests by people not familiar with this kind of game ;)

As someone who enjoys the challenge the game brings, I think a couple of 'helpers' that are easy mode only may be a good idea. Like the Auto-Return teleport, it would help those who maybe struggle with challenge or the amount of micro-management to learn about the game quicker which could then give them the confidence to try the big leagues of normal and get that high score. I'd say the best way to make it so that those who could potentially abuse these helpers by only playing easy is by stopping the unlock of achievements that count towards ship plans or limit what ships can be unlocked via easy mode means.

I like the way it is currently, the game is all about micro managing and this is just another part of it. There is increased rewards from using a boarding crew so I like that there is also an increased risk.
And to be honest, you should always be paying attention to the enemies health so that shouldn't be any additional focus. The only times I've come close to losing my crew due to the eny ship exploding is when I'm in an asteroid field, but I typically just pull my crew out if the ships health gets to low.
