Accuracy

Post by chiefyk »

Are weapons supposed to be so inaccurate? I had a Burst Laser II, Heavy Ion, a Heavy Laser I and an Anti-Ship I drone... I think I made no more than 3 hits by the time I died(roughly 8 volleys worth of combat). The enemy ship had a level 3 shield, so obviously it wasn't taken down. My Ion didn't hit once, the drone didn't hit once.

Is this normal? Or am I the most unlucky person?

You are exceptionally unlucky. 8 volleys 3 weapons 1 drone and only 3 hits? That sounds impossible/ like an exaggeration.
I mostly surprised bout the drone missing... sure it can miss but it should be firing so often that youget a steady stream of hits especially with 8 volleys worth of time.

Also keep in mind low accuracy can be the result of a well-upgraded enemy engine. I can't know for sure (because I never get the best sensor upgrade), but any ship classified as 'scout' seems to have good engines and is therefore harder to hit.

Also, Rebel Auto-ships are.....rage-inducingly lucky. Let's put it that way.

If you encounter an enemy with obscenely high evasion, it might help to use your missile/bombs on their pilot room first, as a destroyed pilot room means 0% evasion, and it's easier to destroy than the engine room.

I wish I were exaggerating, I didn't know what to do. Every hit was missing. I've started firing in volleys, and nothing was hitting or working, I was hoping the drone might atleast drop one level of shield, but nothing.

It was against a rebel fighter, so maybe he had an incredibly high evasion? Absolutely no idea, it does seem though that my weapons are much less accurate than most enemies I come up against.

This is starting to sound like a bug. Do you have any way to record your play session nd post it on youtube or twitch or whereever?

I shall record my next play through, I will try play as close to my last few runs as possible. I like the difficulty, but sometimes, wow.
