Sys repair drones. and since no living things go there no air needed. dont worry bout air system, it adds air to each room through, say, air vents. the airlessness would remove fire.
There is just one minor benign bug though (not sure if everyone is having the same problem...didn't bother to check other posts sorry):
Every time I had visitors at the back of the ship they would do absolutely nothing whenever they landed on an empty (systemless) room. They would just stand still waiting for their death (I kept that part of the ship with no oxygen all the time). Only if they landed on a system room they would actually try to destroy it.

Custom rooms are impossible to my knowledge, they are hardcoded into the game.

You can do the same fancy door trick that dryeagle did for his guard duty ship...
BUT the problem is it isn't a system, so it can't be destroyed and it ruins the point of this ship...
