It's a pirate ship. Pirate ships have mixed, random crews. You just got really lucky to find one with an all engi crew.

Well, I didn't post this in a serious way, it was meant to be funny. I understand how RNG works and that pirate ships are random but it was just funny that a crew of engi were pretending to be mantis...
