I guess what op is saying is that the function of every single drone can be covered/is a cover for other things we already have. Yet for eliminating/diverting rockets there's absolutely nothing else can be done.

You can dodge and if you are really lucky you can shoot them down with your main weapons. I'm not really sure how you got that bit though? :?

You can cloak too, cloaking is more reliable than a defense drone.
