An amazing addition to this great game! The expanded variety and beautification of backgrounds and planets amplifies the illusion of traveling through ever-changing worlds in an infinite universe. Kudos for your great work,sanmonku! This is an absolute must-have add-on for FTL!
BTW, sanmonku, I sent you a PM, hope you received it? (I'm still new/not too familiar with this forum.)

Re: [MOD] Better Planets and Backgrounds 1.3.1
Hi, I'm a new poster here.
I love your mod, makes ftl look so much better.
However, it seems that there is a bug when in a nebula, the back ground totally glicthes out. I can upload pics if you'd like.
I don't know where to report this so I'm reporting it here.

There should be an alternate download available that deals with nebula issues. Unless i'm mistaken.

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy the changes in 1.3.1. The new content is great and the colour and contrast changes make the older backgrounds event nicer (in the last version some thing where a little to colourful for my taste).
Must have mod in my opinion. Keep up the great work!

Re: [MOD] Better Planets and Backgrounds 1.3.1
Hey there sanmonku
Are you still around here? I have a little request: CE 1.067 will have some events that feature planetary artillery weapons fired at your ship. Part of this concept involves slapping some red UI prompts on planets, something in the likes of "WARNING - PLANETARY DEFENCE WEAPONS DETECTED". I could do this with vanilla planets, but I figure a lot of people, including me, use your mod on every play-through. I would like to ask permission to use a few of your populated planets for this concept, so that CE can remains coherent with the custom look your mod provides.

Re: [MOD] Better Planets and Backgrounds 1.3.1
sanmonku, could you, please, upload latest version somewhere else than ModDB?
Unlike others, I *don't* have problems with waiting and re-trying downlaod due to moddb's false "no mirror available ATM" messages, trying to bull me into buying subscription - their "little liar" system can be easily fooled by some script "magic". Hoever, I *do* have problem of other kind with modDB:
Currently, I'm on *very* slow mobile connection serving as my main ISP. By very slow, I mean as slow as 16 kb/s (no joke, feel the glory of the 80's
) download. Normally, it isn't much of a problem - files transfer slowly, but quite stable, and file of similar size is completed after a day or so. Hoever, bastard'ish ModDB is very rude, and they simply discard such slow connections after few minutes (exactly, after 975 kb downloaded) - it seems that I'm not *worthy* for them. It result in false "file completed" messages, and other oddities. Mind you, that I have no such problems in other services, and I've filtered out possible issues on my machine side - it's just that ModDB suxx big time.
So, summing it up, I - and others folks on poor slow connection, if any are still alive
- would really appreciate different download source.
Thanks in advance,
/Estel
//Edit
For other folks, that have normal connection, but are not able to get past moddb's false "no mirror available" - here is a direct link to file (v. 1.3.1) in their internal mirror system:
http://www.moddb.com/downloads/mirror/6 ... ee57fd7f8d
Feel free to update link in first post - I've checked moddb's terms of service, and there is nothing against posting links to certain mirrors (they've, probably, never suspected anyone to get that url, but it is not our problem, yep?
)
*shows moddb middle finger*
