Open space. An asteroid belt is visible by the rays of a nearby star. A FTL beacon blinks in the darkness. From out of no where, a red Mantis cruiser warps in, the name "GILA MONSTER" sloppily painted on its side. Over the radio, "Black Betty" is heard blaring as it opens up its boosters to lose the fifteen rebellion fighters that warp in behind it.
Clem and Earl looked at each other, claws clicking as they powered up the teleporters. With Lenard at the controls, they felt pretty good, but weren't sure when he accepted that job from the Feddies. Now they's bein' chased all over the galaxy and hadn't stopped to have a bite to eat since. "You reckon we gets ta eat some Rebs today?" Clem said, with Earl replying, "Yup. Lookin' for'ard to it." It was simple enough most of the time. Hop over, chase the crew around a bit, get some claw murderin' done.
About half an hour later, they'd returned. Clem was sporting a cap he'd found one of the rebel's wearing and helping Earl haul a large piece of equipment across a spacewalk to the Monster. Skeeter was already in place, waiting for them, his extra large suit revealing the soft green glow from his eyes. "Wut'cha y'all gots dere? Some sorta missile launcher?" He slowly intoned. Earl nodded in confirmation, and Skeeter continued, "Reckon I could mount it. Might even be able to attach it to ship too." He chuckled at his own joke and got to work. The two mantis folk made for the entry way. Another day, another good haul. And the Rebs had been lost in a nearby nebula to boot.
Feel free to add you own stories from FTL. I'll be adding more to this and hope to continue their exploits across the multiverse.

Re: Story Time
"Well, this is it."
Steven stared out the window. Where normally there would be millions of blinking stars, there now floated a mass of orange metal. White stripes marked the mass, denoting power flow to massive cannons mounted on a larger frame. The huge rebellion armada finally had the Osprey surrounded.
Sophia, as they called it, lumbered slowly into the room. Standing tall above Steven, and with skin of pure stone, it easily filled the rest of the bridge. Sophia rumbled in a deep tone and set off the universal translator on Steven's headset.
"Yeah, Soph, I know. We're barely above the tech those rebel fighters have. Our only advantage is the damn cloaking device, and only if they don't nail it with a missile or something. Whatever. It's time to end this. I'll help the engine computer go through the FTL recharge process. You take the bridge." And, pausing for a moment to push a yellow button on his headset,"Willow."
"Captain? I am needed?"
"How's the ship lookin'?"
"I believe the term humanity uses for such things is terrible, captain. There are terrible hull breaches in rooms three, four, and five. The shield generator requires immediate repair. The engine is not accepting more than three units of power. The-"
"Alright, alright, shut your trap. Damn, for an Engi, you sure do talk a lot. Head on down to weapons, we'll need your expertise in that area."
"Affirmative, captain."
--
From another fighter, far away yet very close, a rebel captain looked out the bridge window. He saw a small white speck, slowly growing larger to reveal a white ship with glowing weapons, blazing engines, and a semi-transparent blue orb around it. Orange text on the side of the ship read,"F6701 - Osprey".
"Finally," he remarked. "We found it."
"Ensign Levett, all power to forward weaponry. I want this thing to be space dust by yesterday."
--
As the rebel fighters approached the Osprey, the battle was joined. The Osprey was the first to strike, firing four small globs of energy at the leading rebel fighter, followed by one much larger blast. They all impacted at a critical point in the lead fighter, the shield generator. The area then began to glow as fire threatened to completely destroy the ship's shields.
Unfortunately, that would not be enough to put an end to the Rebel threat. The lead fighter opened up with at least four laser blasts, followed by a long missile. It seemed for a moment that the Osprey was about to be obliterated by enemy fire.
"Captain. Incoming enemy fire detected. Calculations sugges-"
"Sophia, hit the cloak, now!"
Sophia rumbled, and brought it's rocky fist down, nearly smashing the button that activated the cloaking device.
As the rebel captain grinned at his victory, his expression would turn from one of triumph to one of dismay. The Osprey vanished from sight just as the shots were about to connect.
"Typical goddamned federation, always thinking of ways to piss me off."
He sighed, and shook his head."Ensign Wilde, get me the commander. I'm gonna need a sensor sweep he-"
As the captain spoke, the ship shook.
"We're hit!"
"Damage report, Ensign Wilde."
"Weapons are offline, sir."
"Which weapons?"
"All of them, sir."
...
"Captain, sir, are you alright?"
"Wha-...Yes, yes I'm fine. Get engineering teams down to shielding and weapons control immediately. We can't afford to leave those sections unrepaired."
--
The light on the console suddenly blinked green.
"Soph! The FTL is charged! Punch it!
*rumble*
"Er, no, not literally."
*ruuuumble*
"Just jump to the next beacon already."
The last the rebel captain saw of the Osprey was a bright flash, and then it was gone.
"Where is it?! Where did it go?! TELL ME!" he screamed, grabbing Ensign Wilde by the shirt and shaking him violently.
"I-it jumped out, sir!"
"...Oh. Good, then."
--
"Willow, I want you to repair what you can while we're jumping."
"Captain, by my calculations, I would need to be able to move approximately 5.436x10^13 times faster to enact effective repairs on this vessel before FTL transit ends."
"Ah, well. At least we're safe."
There was a flash, and the area slowly came into view. A much larger jump beacon was ahead; the long-range transit beacon. They had made it. Steven stared out the window at the beacon, suddenly feeling a huge weight lift off his chest.
"Captain."
...
"Captain."
...
"Captain, the sensors are detecting multiple enemy crafts within the area."
"What the-...How did they..."
"Irrelevant, captain. We require orders."
"Just...we'll just do what we did before."
"Captain, the hull is too damaged. We cannot do that again."
"...Well. Do what you can. It's been an honor serving with the two of you."
--
It turns out that a lucky shot was all the rebels needed. A stray missile, far from it's intended destination, collided with the Osprey's shield generator. The protective force around the ship vanished as the Osprey shook from the explosion. They activated the cloaking device again, but it was too late. The damage had been done. As the cloak wore off, a laser beam tore through the Osprey's hull as it came apart. The pieces floated away from eachother, releasing all the air in the ship. Steven and Willow were launched into space, while Sophia, sitting in the only place on the Osprey that could be considered an escape pod, slowly floated in space. Rebel salvage teams would later report that several of their away-team members had gone missing in that area. A final, well-armed squad, would find the missing crew's mangled bodies in the bridge of the Osprey, and one, a rockman, would be missing it's space suit.
END.

Right on guys these are pretty good and entertaining. Especially appreciated as I'm avoiding many other threads out of fear of spoilers! Maybe I'll add something to this...

Re: Story Time
Oh, I have a story. There was this lovely Kestrel hastily named Kestrel. It was manned by these three unremarkable human dudes. So, this one time, they saved a slave from a slaveship. It was a rock dude named... well, I forgot, but he had this distinct human brute name like Butch or Chad or whatever. Let's say it was Joel, but I think it wasn't. Well, they explained their mission and sent him to work on the engines. It all went smoothly until this one time they were attacked by this huge-a#% ship in the middle of the bloody asteroid field. Kestrel survived, but all it's crew was dead except for Joel, the rock dude.
So there it was, a human ship with no human crew on a human mission. Having nothing else to live for, Chad the rock dude continued the Kestrel's mission all by himself. He drove, he fixed stuff, he fought, he once killed this mantis guy with his bare hands. He even leveled up in repairing stuff. Then he lived to see something really strange. The rock world sector was marked red as in "hostile". Oh well, said Butch, the human mission won't win itself. He went there, visited a bunch of stores and friendly ships and, like, traded and was like "hey other rock dudes, I'm a rock dude myself".
Just when he thought he was really into this "i have a Kestrel" thing, he saw a distress signal. Brave and merciful as usual, Joel drove his Kestrel to the dot that had a "distress" thing pointing to it. There, he saw an abandoned something something and a survivor. Butch asked the survivor to join the crew, but survivor got insane and killed a random crew member. Unfortunately, there was only one crew member. Yes, it was Chad. He died. The game was over. I never said it was a good story.

Hey, I just found my crew records. He won the most repairs and his name is actually Johnny Maloney. Man, I was way off

So... there was this automated scout with no shields in the middle of an asteroid field attacking us. My crew just powered down the weapons and we laughed and we laughed. Oh god, how we laughed

Rock dude stayed alone again. But soon he found an engi named Starger.
Starger and rock dude, they fought crime. Then they died because they were in a stealth ship and they encountered a drone

That captain's first journey. He was so eager!
"Oh hey we're next to a sun, this will be hard."
... minutes pass ...
"Aaaaaaaaaaah there's so much fire! Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
And crew all dead.

Re: Story Time
I have killed it!!! I have killed the you-know-what!!!1 Oh the glory, oh the explosions, oh the rewards. I got, like, 1 fuel, 1 drone parts and 26 scrap!!!!1 But the combat, phew, intense. At one point, the lag was so strong, I had to shut down my browser and inkscape. I even considered shutting down vlc with Breaking Bad on, but it was just on an interesting part. I'd tell you which one, but I wouldn't want to give away any spoilers.
