Been playing the game off and on since it came out, however yesterday I clocked FTL with variant B of the crystal ship. This is insignificant by itself but for me it was a massive thing as it is the final ship I needed to beat the game with all variants of all ships as well as unlocking all achievements.

Hopefully this may be interesting for some. I didn't hack the game and just slowly played it over a long time and after 546 attempts I clocked it 18 times and completed all achievements.
I assume what I have done is not unique and I don't profess to be particularly good at it, however I love trek, b5 firefly etc and as a result love this game.
Don't have much to add on strategy that hasn't been said in other places. My main advice would just be to play the game a lot and you will get the hang of it (and enjoying it helps).
