Hey been watching this game for a while now with a few friends and we're getting pretty excited about the release coming up.
Having said that, I know getting a game released on Steam is a troublesome process for small developers sometimes, but they've just began the Greenlight program today. I suggest putting FTL up in the program and getting people to vote for it. If enough people vote, FTL could be purchased through Steam. While I know it's probably not really the greatest thing for small developers to use for their games (Valve takes its cut, I'm sure), the power of Steam is undeniable. It's an entirely different market through which to glean purchasers and, since a Steam release is likely to be after the official release if at all, I think the possibility of double purchases (to get all those games in a nice and easy to keep track of single application) is very high; I'm pretty sure I'll be in that boat, anyway.
It warrants some thought.

Re: Steam Greenlight
If you had been following up FTL for a while you would know they already have a deal with Valve to release on steam.
