Rebel Farming

Hmm am I doing something wrong?

I wanted to show off a little by rebel farming all beacons and then some via running out of fuel since I had really lucky early game weapons. I started from sector 4 onwards and had a really good setup with unknown B. Preigniter with 3 lasers (the one that shoot 2 each) and one laser which shot 3. teleported my guys to the weapons room and made sure the pilot came running down, which meant the entire crew was gathered in the med bay, and fired all 4 lasers with him 0 dodge. Each rebel ship took around 20 seconds to crew kill lol.

Farmed for a few good hours, and stayed and sector 7 with 0 fuel trick for around an hour more.

However lo and behold, when I killed the final boss, my score was..

4796.

What?? Has rebel farming been fixed or what? I've had higher scores on normal playthroughs. My ship killed in statistic was only 47 or so! Looks like it didn't count in the rebel kills. Killing the crew should count as a ship kill too right?

What went wrong with my farm!?

Without looking at a recording of the whole thing it's impossible to tell. Perhaps you rushed through regular beacons? or maybe you just got gypped in terms of beacon placement.

I don't know how to record stuff I'm playing, plus its hours of farming so I guess it wouldn't be really practical for my poor harddrive! I didn't rush through since I was going to double back and farm anyhow, so even when the exit beacon was in a early section I just went ahead and finished the map and fought every beacon there again.

Still pretty bummed out about it. Craziest set up ever with 4 x lasers with preignite = ultra farming speed once pilot was off his seat = dead crew I had actually kept a save file before moving on to sector 8 (don't judge me!) since I wanted to test how much killing 1 extra rebel would net you in score. Might reload and take SS of my score screen of me killing no extra rebel and 10x extra more via running out of fuel and see if there's a difference in the result.
