I have windows 8 and I made all the files I needed to read only but it says they don't have permission, is it not compatible?

When it says that you don't have permission, this means that your accout doesn't have the administrator rights, or the program isn't being run with such. In that case, just right-click on the executable and select "run as administrator" (assuming that you have administrator rights).

I dont think the link works, it says the website (Mediafire) is busy but downloading 1.5 just now worked fine

It works for me; double check to make sure it's not on your end.

The 1.6 link worked for me just now (Opera and Firefox).
Maybe the new file needed a little time to propagate through Mediafire's servers?
