Crystal Bravais WTF - Question for developers

I dont understand why the fxxx is so hard to unlock this crystal ship. I have 100h gameplay and wasted last 30h trying with mod! Still no luck.

Hey! Developers! THIS IS NOT FUN. :/ Now game just wasting my time. Yes, wasting. I have no fun, just trying to unlock this.

Why i need install mods and trying to do something with editor and save games just to unlock last ship? Tell me why developers, WHY i need to do this to unlock ONE ship?

Yes its really hard. I almost got it today, but failed.

I am thinking you havent played games like this before.
I played diablo 2 for many years and never got the full immortal king set.
Was i upset? Not really, but each time i found a piece it felt like a great achievement.
Even though it was mostly based on luck.

My advice, dont hunt for this ship. Play as you would normally do, and if you get the right sectors, go and search for it.
Just dont make it a goal. Since its so based on luck, you will only find frustration if you keep on that route.

I like this better than most new games that shower you with easy rewards for whatever you do.
They become so meaningless, that you quickly forget about them or/and dont even appreciate them.

This was the second to last ship that I unlocked. On the way to it I'd managed to unlock the Bulwark, so I didn't do anything but invest my time into unlocking the third achievement for it (which of course is Ancestry).

I'd previously had crystal crew members and my previous closest attempt resulted in everything fitting except for the beacon in the Rock Homeworlds. Long story short I unlocked the ship after a solid run through with the rock cruiser. In turn, this resulted in my best score to date (just short of 5k, I know there are people which much higher scores but that was good enough for me!).

You're obviously enjoying the game so just keep plugging at it. Eventually it'll all slot into place and it'll be your ship to pilot.

Hold your head high that you didn't cheat to unlock it...this game makes you earn stuff, something which I find truly lacking in most modern games.

I'm stuck trying to unlock the slug cruiser; I've actually been to the crystal sector several times .

The Slug was a pain in the ass to unlock for me. It took forever because i was usually playing a pirate ship. Plundah!

I had to save scum for it. I like the randomness of FTL, but that quest went way too far.

I unlock it in my first serious attempt at unlocking the ship.

It was on Easy, though, just to make things quicker, and using Stealth_A for the Scanner. I also had a very lucky streak and found a lot of 'map revealing' automate ship early in the sector. Once I got the stasis pod, I kept jumping to beacon without any ship or hazards by using the Scanner and Map data, and not for long, I got a Crystal ship....

I also got the 'Tactical Approach' achievement in that run, too!

It's best to try to get the Rock B when trying to get the crystal sector. Unlike the Rock A it doesn't suck and it has the guarantee to get the crystal pod from the asteroid field.

Couple of pointers:
The asteroid field can happen in rock and engie sectors, the research center in engie and zoltan and the last step only in the rock homeworld, which can only occur in the last 4 sectors.
So your best chance is to take a route that lets you choose from as many green sectors as possible for the first half and as many red sectors for the latter half.

Also take a pause from the game if it stops being fun. I got the crystal cruiser after I stopped playing for a month.
