Once, I was using mantis B in the earlygame and an automated ship appeared. It had shields, and my only weapon was a pike beam. All of its rooms were connected, so if I sent a boarding drone to destroy the shields, I could destroy the ship.
The drone hit the engines and destroyed them. Then it just sat there. It didn't do destroy any other systems. I couldn't fire another drone, because the current one still existed. Boaring drones destroy systems, but they only move to attack crew. Imagine a boarding drone stuck after taking down a weapon on the flagship.
Two changes need to be made to them:
1. They go to an adjacent room when the system in theirs is destroyed and they aren't fighting crew.
2. A self destruct option, to destroy the drone and fire a new one.

It already does that. Don't know why it won't for you...FireHawkDelta wrote:1. They go to an adjacent room when the system in theirs is destroyed and they aren't fighting crew.
If you're playing an older version of the game, try update.
Many people asked for thisl; I myself kinda want it too. But there's a reason why I believe this won't going to happen: boarding drone has 100% chance to breach the hull and can be deployed instantaneously, which can be abuse if you can self-destruct your drone.FireHawkDelta wrote:2. Anyway, this is true ...

How do I update? I have the steam version, so I thought it was automatic. Also, since the hull breaches could be an exploit, maybe it could have a cooldown.BKT wrote:It already does that. The devs are aware of this issue. Read Matthew's reply here
We could possibly add such [a self-destroy] a feature since it seems to be a common issue.
