Best Game of My Life!!!

After having a pretty miraculous game early this morning I decided to boot up FTL and have another crack at a high score.

I fire up my Blue Mantis ship called THE PALADIN III and my two brave bugmen seek their destiny once more.

The first turn?

A dream!!!

I stumble upon a freebie sector and get a shiny new HULL REPAIR DRONE and ten scrap! Having a hull repair drone is a vital piece of my arm-a-mint to sock it to the rebel fleet.

However... I was thinking to myself having 20 scrap and being able to improve my crew's teleporter to lvl 2 would have been nice.

In the second sector?

I find I have jumped right next to a SUN.

And an unmanned scout ship.

With a Burst Laser 2 and an Ion gun.

Hmmm.

The ion blast shuts down half of my shield and the three laser burst salvo tears into the vitals of my ship.

The sun flares up and suddenly I have 4 hot spots burning bright in my ship. Engines are down... the little FTL charge meter flatlines...

A big smile creeps over my face.
