[Squad] Le Gang

Le Gang

Local advanced intelligences have graciously offered some spare chassis as combat Mechs.
This can only end well.

Originally an April Fool's squad, these lil dudes will be, by default, an absolute nightmare to play. However, the mod now has a configuration option that makes them actually viable, with reasonably interesting synergies and builds.

A second configuration option allows you to choose which 3 of the 4 Mechs to play with in the squad. I do not recommend trying to play them in the rebalanced state seriously without Prospero

Statistics outlined or framed in brighter teal indicate those present only with the configuration option enabled. Conversely, the same with purple indicates statistics unique to the default April Fool's squad. Those outlined with both are present on both, but have different sub-statistics between the two.

Gana
Image
With the configuration option enabled, Gana, this squad's front-runner and tank (as much as these guys can even have a tank), has the Impact Vents, an interesting self-damage weapon that allows you to push enemies with a vortex in a rotation of your choosing, or simply straight away from the Mech. Though low-damage, it's flexible and can often solve multiple problems at once.

KABLOOIEH!
Image

In the April Fool's mode, Gana enjoys dealing minor chip damage to enemies while repeatedly, spontaneously, and violently combusting.

I guess he just wasn't a good Demoman.

Archimedes
Image
With the configuration option enabled, Archimedes serves as a high-risk option for this squad that can yield potent results with the high-damage Schism Dash, that dashes straight through units, damaging both them and Archimedes. The self-damage leads to the considerable risk, as this mech only has one health, which means it'll be instantly lethal to Archimedes each time it's used.

Give your life in service of humanity, glory, and velocity.
Image

In the April Fool's mode, Archimedes taunts the Vek with extreme agility without any physical violence to match, in a manner that might be considered rather fae-like.

Run, run, as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the highly-advanced combat adapted machine intelligence chassis!

Silica
Image
With the configuration option enabled, Silica is this squad's powerhouse, packing both the Osiris Excavator, which instantly collapses an adjacent tile into a chasm; and the Horus Drill, which possesses both flipping and pushing capabilities and can flexibly deal with two targets at once as the drill burrows and resurfaces.

The local attempts at terrain prospecting are going well.
Image

Honestly, I don't even have anything sarcastic to say about the Drill. It's just fun and well-designed.
Image

In the April Fool's mode, Silica is excellent at immediately annihilating themselves so thoroughly that they cannot be revived by any means.

Call today and you too can die tragically in a mining-related OSHA violation.

Prospero
Image

With the configuration option enabled, Prospero is the bond that holds this squad together like the sole half-decade old zip-tie that does all of my cable management. They wield the Cultivator, which rapidly grows plant life, mends damage to allied units, refills uses on limited Mech weapons, and has minor displacement capabilities. As Gana's health drops, Prospero arrives to restore it. When Archimedes falls, Prospero raises them once more. As Silica's weapon uses dwindle, Prospero fabricates more.

Maybe the real treasure were the war machines we supplied with live munitions via rapid arboreal growth along the way.
Image

In the April Fool's mode, Prospero enjoys gardening at home, family togetherness time, gardening at work, logic puzzles, gardening in your house, gardening on vek (alive or dead), and long walks on the beach.

Solving climate change, one step at a time.

This squad is challenging to play, but the viable version is indeed viable. Be warned that they aren't Massive, so traveling through water isn't an option for the non-fliers.

(I should note that Gana's weapon hadn't been updated to have the push-away option when I started this run, and I didn't notice the update until after finishing. That would have made things somewhat easier.)

Part 1 (Vertex Conglomerate)
Part 2 (Candy Land)
Part 3 (Watchtower Security)
Part 4 (Nautilus)
Part 5 (Volcanic Hive)
