I know the feeling man. I've had a about six missiles in a row miss. It's turned a lot of really good runs into instant disaster. Just gotta restart and keep shooting sometimes.

What's more irritating is when your ship with a listed evasion rate of 40% gets hit five times in a row by the enemy's missiles...
(Odds of that happening: .6^5 = 7.8%. Not impossible, but still pretty rage-inducing)

Wait, what?Sparilas wrote:That doesn't help at all. Well, that's it for me i guess. The game proved to be too shallow after all :/
The game is shallow because the mechanics are too complicated for you to understand???

Train up one guy as your weapons guy. As he gains experience, he contributes to your weapons. I'm not sure if it's an increased toHit chance, but it seems the most likely use of that xp to me.Sparilas wrote: Is there any way to reduce or remove the miss chance?

He reduces refire time. You still have the same miss chance to deal with, but he'll fire faster.AngleWyrm wrote:Train up one guy as your weapons guy. On that note: Can we change the "Miss" flytext to "Evaded!"
People rage when they miss because it sounds like they're sucking. The actual PREMISE is the same as that of Dungeons of Dredmor: Heroes don't miss, but the monsters sometimes dodge. If they feel like they're sucking, they get angry; if they feel like the other guys are taunting them by dodging out of the way, they get motivated.
