[FTL RP, WE'RE BACK, REBOOTED!] The Rogue Cadets

Well any projectile can be called a missile.
I assumed they were some sort of Kinetic Kill Vehicle considering how it went through the hull and out the other end without exploding.
Still, considering how the Pelican didn't want to face a Rebel Cruiser with an ASB (those things don't explode either, passing through things), it's still a scary prospect to be hit by one of those.

The Pelican sped past one of the salvage drones as it approached the wreckage. "Can't believe I'm actually doing this stupid stunt..." Eden grumbled "Lux, you better have something good on screen right about now..."
Lux frowned at the display, looking at the shapes. "There! Open the forward cargo bay doors and move in this direction" she paged, showing the route to take in the field.
One of the salvage drones seemed to be picking up some sort of strange device on one of the larger wrecks.
"Ah, you really do have a gift for The Gift..." Eden chuckled "That thing looks small enough for the Pelican to eat."

Plot twist. It was a coffee machine!

"Number 3. What are the unit's vital signs?

"Sensors indicate them to be 100% Number 1"

"Number 2. Have the programs been installed yet?"

"Affirmative Number 1"

Three engi are working in a room, walls decorated with various displays, and monitors. In the center lies a large pod, fog clouding the glass doors.

"Everything is in order. Preparing to bring unit online" Said the engi designated as number 1.

He executed a series of commands on one of the monitors, an electrical surge occured within the pod, and the glass doors slid open. After the smoke had cleared, an engi had been revealed to be within the pod, suspended by a multitude of wires. After a few moments, the engi detached itself from the wires, and fell, kneeling on the ground. The other 3 engi surround him, and began in unison.

The engi slowly began to awaken. After taking a few moments to recoup, he sat up, and got off the bed. Strangely enough, he felt refreshed. Just what was that memory? It had to be something from before, but when? He asked himself these questions within his head, before heading out of the room.

Should I just go ahead and grab the salvage drone? It doesn't have to have the Black Hole Inducer though. Could very well be just some sort of Rebel coffee machine; the people from the future probably lost the know-how on how to make one and dammit they need their caffeine before they can recover the black hole tech.

The salvage drone spotted the Pelican heading towards it a bit too late.
Lux fell to the ground as the cargo ship shook from the impact. "Did we get it?" she asked, getting back up to look at the sensor readings. There was a small mass spinning and drifting away from the Pelican at high speed.
"We got about half of it" one of the cannibals reported from the cargo bay "Tore one of its wings off and damaged the cargo bay doors. We're getting it secured and locked in place now with the lifting clamps."
Eden had already punched the "Jump" button and the Pelican left the system to arrive at the next beacon.

When the crew went to look at their prize, they found that the salvage drone seemed to have shut itself down, probably from the damage sustained or being out of range of the controller. What it had picked up however had been thrown to one side of the bay. "Is that the weapon?" Lux asked, examining the device.

Bren had taken the time to collect some other scrap, nothing usable, but at least they found a couple of fuel canisters before he jumped

"And we are in more nebula...everyone alright?" he called out

As soon as the Pelican jumped, Jake slammed the jump button. They were at the next beacon, having jumped right before a missile would've hit piloting.

"Status report!" Jake shouted into the comms. "What do you think attacked us? Do you think it was the rebels?"

"Maybe, maybe the rebellion wanted to eliminate some supposive traitors and used them for target practice, wouldn't put it past em" he said leaning in his seat

"I don't know, the rebellion needs a lot of troops, I find it unlikely they would just lose all these resources like this" Gorlag said

"I agree, it doesn't make much sense" Ruwen said

"That weapon though... that was no ASB I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of ASBs in action" Eden commented "But then again, the Rebels do have the better starship tech. Those automated ships for example..."

While on Bren's side he was looking out the window when he noticed something, thanks to the nebula no wonder they didn't detect it.

"Holy Scrap is that a weapon floating in the nebula?" Bren didn't waste time in sending and directing Ruwen into space to grab it however when he brought it back...

"...well no wonder, its some old laser, damn its about as ancient as the robin" he said sighing a bit (You Obtained an Old Laser *Trombone Wah Wah*)

"False alarm people thought we might have gotten lucky, get a glaive beam or a burst laser mark 2, or even a prototype Vulcan the federation was working on, yeah remember when they brought it to the academy to show it off, tore through that plate metal and then the wall behind it" He said chuckling a bit

"I saw the Chain Vulcan too" Lux remarked with awe in her tone. "That thing was sooo cool! If we had one of those on every ship, the war would be over! All those lasers... and it only gets faster as it fires"
Eden scoffed at the idea as she looked at the drone. "Any idea what it was carrying?"
"Not a clue. I'm sending the pictures and scans to Jake to see if that fancy starship can analyse it" Lux explained "But there are some anomalous graviton readings."
