He transmitted the coordinates of the destination, as he watched the Robin slowly sink into the Black Hole. It was halfway into the Event Horizon when he watched the ship just barely manage to jump into Hyperspace, to safety.
They were not so lucky. For whatever reason, the Jump Sequence was frozen, unable to charge. Just like the Robin, the new ship was falling into the black hole, using all of its thrust to keep it away from the brink of destruction. They were sinking slower than the Robin, because the new ship had more advanced thrusters. An unlucky Slug cruiser flew past, tumbling into the abyss below.
The shields were up, and falling debris rattled like hail against the shield bubble. Jake saw pieces of shrapnel fly at the windshield, only to be blocked by a purplish pulse of light, a few meters away. He saw on the scanner that the shield bubble was elongated, as it too was being dragged into the hole.
"Engine room! Report! Why can't we jump!?" Jake shouted into the comm as a Rock ship tumbled past.
WOL hadn't found anything of interest within the station, so, he returned to the ship and waited until they were ready to leave. Once preparations were made, they were ready to leave, until...

"Behold the power of the Rebel Empire" was the last thing WOL heard before all hell broke loose. Everyone, and everything was enveloped by the black hole's gravitational pull. Some fought, others fled, it didn't matter, they still ended up dead in the end. WOL had refused to accept this fate, he knew that if they died now, the war would be lost.
The ship's Engines charged quickly, with this new technology, they stood a chance at defying fate. But fate was a cruel Mistress. The FTL drive was full. They could jump now, but they didn't. Why? Jake's voice came out of the intercom, asking what was wrong. WOL didn't know what to say, until realization struck him. He responded in a mortified tone. "The gravitational pull is too strong. Nothing can escape a black hole. Not even light. Jake... We're dead." He ended in a resigned tone.
"Uh, excuse me. But the whole point of having a "Faster Than Light Drive" is to go
Faster Than Light! (Role FTL credits!) Kyrie! Cut those shields!" Jake shouted, desperate to prove WOL wrong.
"What am I saying?" Added WOL. "To hell with it, throughout this journey, I've witnessed almost nothing but close calls, somehow, I've ended up escaping everytime. I've gotten this far, I'll be damned if I give up now." Said WOL, completely betraying his previous mindset.
"Captain, wherever you go, I'll follow. To the ends of the Galaxy, and back" he said in a resolute tone.
"Besides, I look damn good. How would the universe ever cope if it lost me?" WOL said somewhat playfully.
WOL cut off the transmission. Whatever plan jake had in mind, he was willing to follow.

Fragments of broken ships began pelting the ship, sounding exactly like a hail storm. Just moments later the "Jump" light went on, and Jake jumped.
There was a low streching sound as the ship slowly rose into hyperspace. The engines began drawing massive amounts of energy. Jake directed all power to engines, even simple subsystems like lighting.
Everything was black, minus the light shining through the window. The light of stars being bent and contorted. At this point, Jake could barely make out the station, stuggling high "above" them, doomed to fall. The other light was from the red, blinking siren signifying red alert.
They were almost completely in the black hole, but not REALLY. The jump sequence got them caught between Hyper and Normal space. They were slowly "acending" into Hyperspace, but the black hole held them back.
"You can do it..." Jake said to no one. Sparks flew everywhere. The hull plating was peeling back. The whole ship shuddered like it was riding a cloud of intimate thunder. Jake saw breeches forming as tears developed from stress on the ship. The glass of the windshield was cracking, accompanied by a symphony of screeching metal.
All the sounds fell away. The siren blaring, the screeching metal, the hull being pelted. Everything seemed to slow down, and Jake squeezed his eyes shut, as his ship- his glorious ship- crumbled around him.
And then, with a final ROAR from the engine, there was a flash of light, and they were free.
WOL could feel the gravity getting stronger. He adapted his body to cope with the sudden increase, but it still felt as if he was being crushed by a hydraulic press. Still he resisted, he resisted the urge to give up. He could hear the hull plates being pried loose. Large cracks appeared on the wall, ceiling, and floor. Even small cracks appeared on his face.
He could feel death coming close. A few moments more, and they'd be turned into nothing. A fading memory, scattered along the winds of change. WOL continued to resist, if this really was his time, then he would delay it as much as possible.
He was literally being torn apart, body becoming undone. He could see the light, it was bright, it was so bright, it was-.....
