Jake was confused... He had come to conclude that The Gift was a disease, contracted from the Quarentine Zone. This disease turned people into cannibals... But no, this was no simple cannibalism disease. The hand...
Jake whipped out his gun, pointing it at Eden. "Now I'm not normally like this, but you may be threatening my crew." The bodyguards began to advance. "I can shoot her before you even touch me." He said to the thugs.
"Eden. What is this? What is the Gift? Lux got it? From the Pelican? Answers. Now." Jake demanded.

"Umm tell me that isn't a human hand inside of her....and tell me that isn't alive" Bren said looking concerned (I'm not too weirded out, I've seen venture brothers, I've seen that Defense Attonery coming out of that big man's belly)
Jake felt the same way Bren felt. Weird. Jake slowly lowered the gun, biting his lip.
"I... I'm sorry." He said, staring at the belly. "I understand your desire to assist in our mission - you would be very useful to have. Though, I need answers to authorize this. No way am I letting you onto my team without knowing what this 'Gift' crap is all about"
Eden laughed and told her guards to back off. "I wouldn't be alive if I was intimidated by every fancy-looking blaster in the galaxy" she said.
She said to Jake "The Gift is the next stage of Humanity's evolution..."
Lux had drawn out her own blaster "Corny. Heard it before on TV..."
Eden said "The men turn into voracious cannibals who subsist on Human flesh. Probably something with testosterone or natural male aggressiveness but the point is that Luxanna here is unique."
"Turns out I'm a magical girl from the Moons of Vega?" Lux snickered "Or that my mother is a Zoltan and I have the ability to summon lightning?"
Shaking her head, Eden said "The Gift, or at least the one we contracted on The Pelican all those years ago does something different to women. I'm going with pheromones on this one. I wasn't the ship's doctor."
She crossed her arms and the hand kept moving within her belly. "Yes, he is alive in there. At least for the moment; we found him in the escape pod of a slaver ship and I have my brother checking the station logs to see if he's a well-fed slave or one of the slavers..."

"We won't start her on Humans right away. At least not living ones... her stomach wouldn't be able to handle the movement" Eden said.

Eden looked to her "So how about it? I teach you to harness The Gift and your boyfriend over there gets our services while we go kill some Rebels."
Before Lux could say anything though, Charlie remarked "But if you leave on your mission, I lose my best customers!"
"Why not sell to a Mantis hive or something instead of hanging out here?" Morgan growled.
Lux looked at Jake and then at Eden then back at Jake "I'm not sure Captain... this is all too sudden and honestly weird... but at the same time... I mean it looks sort of awesome that I might be able to do that..."
