"How would you feed it?" he askedstylesrj wrote:Lux shrugged "I wouldn't know too much about the Engi condition. Your people have been closer allies to them than us Humans."
She flopped down on a nearby bunk and sighed, removing her boots and lying back. "Jake however concerns me more. We've all been hit hard by loss but the way he's acting... it's like he's a father demanding that the doctors save his son over everyone else in the medical ward..."
Her smile broke yet again "But I guess I'm thinking out loud. Mother would tell me all these stories about her residency and the people she had to put up with..."
And yet it wasn't one of her patients that killed her...
She thought back to that incident. She was pulled aside from the mail call to receive a personal message from Federation Fleet Command. She had expected her father, Captain Douglas Jensen to let her know he was coming home soon and it was going to be a momentous occasion. But instead it wasn't him at all, but Admiral Tully in person who was waiting in the Communications Booth. Tully had informed Lux that her mother was serving onboard a medivac cruiser when the Rebels ambushed it and overloaded the engines. No survivors were reported and no prisoners were taken by the Rebels.
"Your father was escorting that cruiser when it happened. Normally in these circumstances, we'd send him home to help you with your loss but we need him and his skills as a Captain on the front lines" Tully explained.
And that was that, Luxanna Jensen was alone...
She looked to Bren again, resuming her cheery attitude "I wonder if there's still some time to bring one of those horses onboard?"
I'm assuming at the start of the war, Admiral Tully is just a low-ranking Admiral who soon becomes Fleet Admiral after the Rebels eliminate all the others.
And considering how Admiral Tully visited the Academy in person to talk to Lux, word probably got around fast that the news wasn't good...
"And would you clean up after it and give it all its shots?" he asked in a joking tone, clearly not trying to be mean but lighten the mood.
"Really I think I would be more concerned about getting supplies, we only have enough food to last us 4 days, water 2, and while I would suggest we might try harvesting them, no idea if they are edible, or if they wouldn't just fight back. Plus I doubt you'd want to do that, so that plan is out" he said
