Honestly if you're flying your ship close enough to be damaged by debris from another ship when it dies (or even allows a dying ship to crash into another one), you should fire your pilot immediately and get someone who understands space up there as your pilot.

I played a bit too much Mass Effect. I like their explanation of how space combat actually works and I like to think that when you see a fleet of ships flying in close together that they're actually much more distant, in the same way that the moon is close to Earth but actually quite far away.
*ignores cutscenes where ships crash into each other all the time*

Yeah, we where considering whether we'll make that a feature. It's not realistic or at least not probable, but then again the game has kind of a soft realism to it to begin with. We'll mostly decide whether we'll do it based on gameplay and balance.

I think this is ok since the discussion still revolves around CEs content contribution.

Yeah I saw those a while ago, I'd be interested in the Mantis C ships if they'd have the glowing lines the that the player Mantis C has. Also gibs would be required for the stuff to be integrated.

The ships have gibs in their downloads, and as for the lines, I can try to work on that. I couldn't see anywhere where they would fit in well, but I can get creative. (I also have cloaking images for the rock type C ships if you want those, I followed steamtex's tutorial)

Awesome, sound good! I've always wanted to contribute to this extremely cool mod! Feel free to use my Slug and Zoltan ships as well if you want, I went through your ship images and you guys don't have the jelly truffle and croissant recolored for the Type C makeover, neither does the the zoltan bomber.

Thanks again you two, I'll work that stuff in.

@elijahdb: If I remember correctly I didn't ask previously to integrate your stuff because the ships lack pirate variants. If the ship using the C ship graphic has a pirate variant I want to keep that ships appearance consistent with the original. If you feel like doing pirate variants for the Mantis ships, the Zoltan ships, as well as for Slug croissant and truffle then I could use them for all the AE themed enemies of those factions, otherwise I won't be able to use them much. The Rock c ships can't get into pirate hands, so those are fine.
