"Ah! Yes. I could tell you what the federation wants you to know and you can live, or I can tell you the truth and the federation will do anything to kill us all because the federation really doesn't want you to know. Which will it be?"

(Our next jump can be a store if you want to jump right in- just make sure you roll that character sheet out relatively quickly if you want to come in then.)

"That sounds irresponsible" Tabitha said to the AI "If the Federation already knows you know their dirty secrets, what difference would it make if you start to tell me? Does it send a signal to Command or something to send out hit-squads to silence us? Because there is a war going on.."
She sighed and remembered the regulations. Need-to-know basis, Tabitha, she thought to herself "I'll pass on the secret intel. Just in case there's a mercenary or bounty hunter tailing us in case you start blabbing..."

The reports came in from the space station besides that of the engine. With the ship docked, some of the station's cameras could be tapped into with basic Federation codes. Tabitha kept an eye on the sensors in case of unexpected intruders or hostile salvagers while she looked at the corridors. "It's hard to pin down what sort of attackers were here from the damage marks alone; if I had to guess I'd go with pirates. But then again, I saw Rebel uniforms floating past so I'm not sure."

When will they be ba-a-ack? Targon moaned in his head. Maybe I'll just go down there myself. He left his room and went straight to the hull and into the station. He could hear Tabitha, Kr and Arkangel's voices through his ear piece talking about some engine and an old Engi body. He peered at the engine, tilting his head in puzzlement at the symbol on it. Strange looking. M'eh. He was more concerned about those weapon and drone pieces. "Ah, there you a- AHH!"

Targon shrieked as he saw that the parts had been careless tossed in a pile. "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!?" He screeched at Kr, who had just come up to throw some more on top of the pile, "THESE ARE VERY VERY PRECIOUS PARTS THAT COULD GIVE US A FREE WEAPON!"
He grabbed the machinery out of the startled Mantis's hands, then loaded a box on wheels with the parts, carefully stacking them and growling the whole time. "..of a blanged gun, people don't understand... stupidity..." Targon finally finished and wheeled the box to one of the empty rooms in the ship, still muttering, but before that he passed the door system and locked down the room's doors with a password. "Don't want anyone bugging me... nuts and bolts..." He hoisted the bag of tools further up his shoulder as he entered the room. "No one bother me!" He yelled down the corridor, then the door slid shut with a swish.

Then the door opened again. "Unless Tabitha cooked something!" *swish*
I've created Type C Hulls for the enemy Mantis, Slug, Rock, and Zoltan ships, and anyone can use these for a mod.
Check out the details here.

"Good! You're not suicidal yet. And, no, there are no mercenaries following us. However, this ship is built with a Atom Bomb for a self destruct, so that's substitute. Anyways, it seems the life signals are still pulsating even though I've read over the source code 86 times. Something's alive in there, possibly even more than 1, and we know it has to know how to use an air tank, so It's either someone or a reason to update your life-form scanners. And what I can tell you about the war without a side of radiation is that it was a game of destruction. Now see if you can get that whatever it is into the ship. I can analyze the code then."

Weapons, engines, drones, hacking, and piloting are taken, so anything but those is completely permitted. We have no cloak or mind control, nor a back-up battery.

"With the state of our replicators, you'd be lucky if I can make any of this rubbish edible" Tabitha grumbled when Targon shouted about not wanting to be disturbed.
Wait what? We're carrying an atom bomb onboard this ship? she suddenly realised, Holy crap if we can find that thing, the nuclear materials could be appropriated for the replicators!
She nervously glanced at her console where a pair of slots for keycards were labelled "Fusion Reactor Overload. Dual Access Controls."

I feel safer if we just had the one that's secured...

"Look! Fine. Next time we get into a store, I'll get the replicator upgraded too. That means that you're going to get yourself a LOT of scrap by the time we stop by a store or you won't be getting both your teleporter and your replicator. Alternatively, I could steal all that for you, but that doesn't seem it would go down well with you. Next jump isn't a distress beacon or a store, so it could have something unique or just a fight, even possibly nothing. Be prepared. And finish up with the station, we have more work to do."
All Quintet could do at this point is hope to get himself onto a store so he could get the signal out, loot the store, and destroy it along with all witnesses. He mulled over all the ways this was possible when a schedule crew check came through. It had become more than obvious at that point the data it tried to convey - everyone was suspicious of Quintet and his plans. I suppose a little fun with this won't hurt... Quintet thought.

"I can see everyone's suspicious of everything here. The madness I seem to convey is simply a lack of correct conveyance. In layman's terms, this is a hopeless mission in my opinion and chances are (and have been calculated to be) that you're all going to die so why not have a little fun with it? But the chances still exist! The federation would've been history 50 years ago if it weren't for blind luck, so you do have something going for you. Not much, though, as this ship is a 500-ton Dumb Bomb. I imagine the federation will make it go boom if it means their extended survival when we reach the base, not a second of thought on all its crew. You do have something going for you, as I said before. Not much. But something."

Sp was, as always, perforimg the endless test and tunning routines for the FTL drive, when an unusual energy signature distracted him.
He drove his full attention from the drive and checked what was going on outside the FTL room.
The ship was docked to some empty looking station, and the strange energy signature was comming from it.
He extended his power flow reach to that signature and tried to analise it.
It was a life source, bit something was wrong with it, it was very faint and looked twisted and broken.
It took some time to define it as an Engi life energy.
The engi was dead. Or rather it's shell was broken. The life source energy was still present, but paralised.
This was interesting, very interesting.
Sp made a link with the comms system and transfered his voice to Kr's head set:
- Please, if it is possible, bring the dead Engi to the FTL drive room.

Sp also noticed that the salvage team has found a strange looking Engine, quick analisis showed that if disassembled it's spare parts could come in handy in upgrading several sytems on the ship. Most importantly it could be used to upgrade the FTL drive.

Then Sp heard the AI on the comms talking about more threats on the ship.
He was not interested in the games that AI was playing, but what caught his attention was the Pilot's response.
It looked like the Pilot was interested in this atom bomb the AI mentioned.
Since the pilot was the closest person to work with the FTL drive, Sp was willing to get the pilot's good favour, so that the FTL drive would be treated with best care.
Sp walked over into the pilot cabin, and once again the lights in the FTL room dimmed and brightened up in the pilot cabin.
- Hello.
Sp walked closer to the Pilot's console.
- Some time ago I overheard you asking for anything that would help with this ship's food replicators.
He reached his hand towards the console, and streams of energy poured into it.
- Perhaps these can be of use...
The console screen flickered for a second and then it showed the ship's layout scheme, with a section marked in red, and a nuclear simbol in the middle.
- I believe the nuclear materials from this atom bomb could be appropriated for the replicators.
- I will cut off all power flows in that section untill you salvage everything you need.
Sp's collor got brighter for several seconds and then returned to normal.
- Yes, It should be safe in there now.
- Please let me know when you are done with recovering the material you need.
- So I can focus again on the FTL drive's optimal performance.
- And please do your best to treat the drive with care.
Then Sp turned around and headed back to the FTL room.

When he reached the door, he turned his head and said:
- Guess we won't need to worry about the Federation blowing us up anymore...

--RP OFF--
Bear I have requested an Engi body for you. Hope it will be delivered :D
Please post a background for your char, so I can link it to the "Revival" procedure :P
