Greetings from windows tablet user and FTL fan)
I think it would be great to have option to omit the same point click to set beam target. Just click and drag to target and comfirm selection at the same time.
It's mostly okay with mouse, but takes 3 or 4 tries on a tablet. Sorry, Zoltan Cruiser...
Simpler beam confirmation?

U don't know if it solves you problem, but there is a touchscreen patch-mod somewhere on the forums.

I actually am using this patch-mod. Beam target confirmation is still a problem.
