What is the name of the application you use to read websites? Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge, Opera, Safari, something else?

Yes. It is an older version of Java but it should work.

I tested it on Windows 10 (upgraded from 8.1) and I tested it with chromium.

That means your Java installation is damaged. Can you try to deinstall it and install it again? Maybe the latest version?

Control panel --> Software (or something like that) --> select Java and click deinstall. Download the latest version from here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and install it again.
