I was attacked by a scout in sector 6 with 3 bars of shields and was told immediately it was trying to jump away. I sent my two mantis over to kill the engines, then the shields, then attack the weapons, which all took a while as there was no air on board. After I had almost damaged the shields the ship jumps away with my two guys onboard. After that the game was over (mostly because the next battle with a 4 shield cruiser went horribly wrong with no boarders.
Is is possible for unmanned scouts to repair damage? If so I might have missed that it repaired the system. Otherwise, if a system is red, then it shoudn't be functional at all and the ship shouldn't have jumped away. Is this a bug or working as intended?
BTW, thanks for the game, its pretty awesome!

I had a ship jump away with red cockpit.. while my boarders were on their ship...
in the cockpit.. fighting the last living crew member...
I don't see how that is possible!

I think Justin said that the cockpit or pilot isn't necessary for jumping away. Only the engine matters for enemies.

Is that certain? I should change the way I disable ships then...
Cockpits are easier cause they are always 2x1 rooms so I can have two boarders in there in relative safety..
Are both Cockpits and engines need for enemies to dodge? or should I just ignore cockpits?
