I hate this game sometimes

Fate can be so cruel. Okay here goes, sorry if my article does not "flow well".
Okay, so I really want the crystal ship. To do so I spam "restart" until I get a shop that has long-ranged scanners on easy with the rock A (I don't have Rock B : (
Anyways I get it, then see the sector map. Reds all over the top, and 3 greens in a row down the bottom then three possible reds I could hit before the boss. I head to the bottom 1, zoltan controlled and one of the first beacons (distress beacon) I GET THE AMAZING STASIS POD OH YEAH. So I continue on, looking for a blank beacon for the zoltan researchers quest. I don't find it, but I continue on to the next sector. I see "Engi controlled", which is a spawn for the quest so I head there. Side note: I ALWAYS GET THIS QUEST. I GET IT LIKE 5 TIMES EVERY PLAYTHROUGH OF THIS GAME. Okay, so I search all blank beacons, still don't find it. I search so many blank beacons I have to fight the rebels thrice and have 2 fuel when I leave. By now I am kinda worried, but then I see another "Engi Controlled" and feel better. I then search the entire sector, hitting at least 6 blank beacons, all over, never find the quest. I fight the rebels twice on my way out, but I am having a pretty good run, so I am not so worried about being killed by em. I power up FTL just as they fire a missile and see it. ROCK HOMEWORLDS! ROCK HOMEWORLDS! ROCK HOMEWORLDS! ROCK HOMEWORLDS! ROCK HOMEWORLDS! I stare for a minute, knowing that I surely would have found the entrance to crystal-land with my long ranged scanners, and immediately rage-quit. The only good thing from this run was I got the "Defense Drones don't do D'anything" Achievement for Rock ship, but yeah.... : (
P.S.: I am the guy that posted under the "Zoltan Researchers Quest", so don't say you've heard it happen to someone before if you are referencing, ahem, myself.
