[Squad] Gunk Creepers

[SOMEWHERE, SOMEWHEN, IN DETRITUS]
Listen, sometimes things happen. Sometimes you throw a ton of biomass, chemicals and Vek entrails into a disposal vat and eventually it starts to move. Sometimes it escapes and tries to meet up with the rest of the hive and you have to gun it down and fit it with a control armature. Sometimes you have to explain to some military types why your experiment has devoured half their very expensive hardware. These things just happen.
You don't believe me? I'm not speaking in hyptotheticals, here. I've been in contact with a half dozen variants of myself and multiversal equivalents, and they've encountered the same sequence of events. These things do happen, they did happen, and are happening now. Through some... complicated maneuvering, we managed to get our creations onto the same timeline and combined them into one super-creature. It's devilishly effective, even if it's not well housebroken. Listen, it gives the cleanup crew something to do after we've survived the war, alright? You're going to have to trust me on this.

Hailing from Detritus, this squad of mechs and their slimy companion spread shapeless goo to smother the Vek in a sticky morass.

Gunk Spray - Spray caustic Gunk over all targets and tiles in a line. Increased damage at close range.
- Pressurize (2 Core) - Increases range by 2. Increase close range damage by 1.
Gunkborn (2 Core) - Spawn a temporary Gunklet for each killed enemy.

Strident Resonance - Target any units or Gunked tiles within 3 tiles, flipping attacks and pushing adjacent.
- Range (2 Core) - Double range to 3 tiles
Splash (1 Core) - Targeted Gunk or Gunked tiles spread Gunk to adjacent tiles or enemies.
Slime Slam - Dash at a target, dealing damage equal to the current HP. Leaves a trail of Gunk.
- Mitosis (1 Core) - Leave behind a Gunklet in the origin tile of attack.
Splash (2 Core) - Running over existing Gunk spreads Gunk to perpendicular tiles .
The Beast is truly another breed. The Beast has their ‘Repair’ button replaced with Devour, which allows them to consume an adjacent 1 HP Vek - or building! - to heal and clear status effects. This does not consume your action, allowing the Beast to savage a group of mortally wounded Vek before or after they move - as long as it’s before they perform an attack! Important for the Slime Beast, however, is that consuming a Gunked target will ALSO increase your max HP by 1!
Additionally, the Beast will not gain the Popular Hero or Invulnerable traits on level-up (not applicable to them).
GUNK
What IS Gunk? This brown slime gets everywhere, causing any unit that touches it to become Gunked! This does absolutely nothing except make them messy - but it also makes them especially tasty to the Slime Beast, and also allows other abilities to key off of them.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Comes packaged with achievements - some are tricky, but all are doable!
What A Mess - Place 30 Gunk or Gunked units on the field in a single mission.
King Slime - Have Slime Beast use Devour on enough Gunked units to attain 10 max HP during a single mission
Clean Work - End a mission with no Gunked tiles.
Completion of all of the above will unlock a Secret Pilot to be found in subsequent Time Pods!
THANKS
Thanks to the ITB Discord for making this dream come true, but especially Metalocif, Lemonymous, Tosx, Truelch, Hedera, NamesAreHard, GenericCorporatePilot n°2005, and others I’ve shamefully forgotten! I’ve been kicking this squad idea around for the better part of two years, and it was only thanks to your help I managed to get it out there!
